This is by far one of the best experiences I've had to date - escape to Africa at Jamala Wildlife Lodge. One of Canberra's hidden gems, Jamala has the most unique accomodations Australia has ever seen. Ever wanted to go on safari? Ever wanted to be face to face with a giraffe? Maybe soak up some rays with a sun bear? This is your chance. Jamala Wildlife Lodge provides a one-of-a-kind overnight wonderland that is unlike any in Australia.

From the minute you step foot on the property, it's like you've been transported to a scene from Out of Africa - the decor is immaculate and you're greeted with a delicious afternoon tea plus a visit from some friendly critters. We had the pleasure of staying in the Giraffe Treehouses which is every bit as cool as if Tarzan himself made them. There's an air of luxury once you've stepped through the door, the balcony beckons you to your soon-to-be favourite neighbour Hummer, the resident giraffe who just loves selfies. You can however choose from an array of animal rooms such as lion, tigers and bears - oh my!

If you think the overnight stay comes at price, let me put your mind at ease. The trip comes with an evening of canapes and unlimited drinks on the balcony followed by a 5 course dinner to satisfy all palettes with some unusual guests...stunning white lions! Two zoo behind-the-scenes tours are included as well with some special experiences that make you feel like one of the keepers.
