A Melbourne Hideaway // The Sebel Docklands

I am so excited to finally share with you my secret Melbourne retreat, my home away from home, my city-side escape. Tucked away in Melbourne Docklands lies this hidden gem, The Sebel Hotel Docklands. The perfect apartment lifestyle with all the perks of hotel living, these modern hotel apartments welcome you from the moment you walk through the door. Positioned right by the water on the boardwalk, it feels like you've left city-life behind and are holidaying in The Hamptons. When in actual fact you are a 10 minute walk from Southern Cross station and a free tram ride away from anywhere in the city - who would've thought peaceful bliss was just down the road.

The Sebel's architecture is something to be inspired by, mimicking the famous alleyways of Melbourne - it's where the CBD and Docklands meet. If having a beautifully spacious and well-lit lobby wasn't enough, the pool is hidden behind a waterfall. Yes, you read correctly - a water feature curtains off the pool area providing a little privacy for when you're in your swimmers and also adds a kind of tranquil beauty to the hotel. The pool is serene, the jacuzzi hot and the sauna steaming - it was relaxing having a little resort just downstairs after a long day of meetings. Not to mention large gym facilities to keep you fit, plus if indoor exercise isn't your style fret-not a jog along the boardwalk and water was made just for you!

Like a scene from one of my favourite childhood movies The Secret Garden, the hotel's hidden elevator opens to a beautiful rooftop garden. Not known to many guests, this delightful space has tennis courts and BBQ areas to really emphasise that homely feel. Plus just a few floors down is The Sebel's very own in-house library! Yes they've thought of just about everything, this bright and modern study has free wifi, classic novels and unique non-fiction books for your reading pleasure. With shopping, restaurants and beautiful scenery just downstairs, it's the world at your fingertips - I am honestly always so sad to leave... I hope you too get the chance to experience The Sebel Docklands.
