Our First Tiny Home Trip

The minute you arrive at Dam It Getaway you’re welcomed by two sweet four legged friends, the cutest little countryside doggos you’ve ever met. What I love about this Tiny Home is that it has an array of amenities that some Tiny Homes lack; electricity, wifi and reverse cycle air-conditioning. Trust me, it makes such a difference. There’s also private BBQ and campfire amenities. It makes for the most spectacular evenings spent by the fire and star-gazing. You don’t realise how many stars there truly are until you make it out of the city. My favourite highlight of Dam It Getaway is of course the hot tub and pool with sweeping views of the valley. I mean if that’s not heaven I don’t know what is. Be sure to book a sunset time slot and bring along your favourite wine and cheese. It’s such a tranquil moment that you’ll never want to leave.

After reading some books and relaxing by the view, be sure to take sometime to explore the neighbourhood. The very sweet town of Gloucester is only 15mins away by car, they have the sweetest little antique shops, thrift stores and boutiques. There’s also a woolies and a bunch of countryside cafes that are popular with the locals. My personal favourite for breakfast was Roadies Café, every one knows every one and the food is delicious! Be sure to time you stay with the second Saturday in every month as it’s the fresh food markets and the homemade food and local honey is a must-try. Gloucester Park has some beautiful picnic spots and the most beautiful row of white blossoms, we were lucky enough to catch them in full bloom! Quite the sight!
