NYFW Runway Report: Monique Lhuillier, Jenny Packham and Reem Acra

's SS17 20th anniversary runway was a floating whisper of pastels, glittering sequins, fluttering feathers, fantasy florals, sweeping skirts and soft lines. The sweet overtone was endearingly romantic, making the wearer seem gracefully elegant yet warmly approachable at the same time. A sense of nostalgia was in the air as

emulated the signature designs that made her famous and one of the most sought after red carpet designers today. A lady who knows how to make fairytale dressing come to life, this was a collection that left everyone feeling like they'd just walked out of a spring daydream.

show was such a rush! Inspired by Peggy Guggenheim's 1940's art exhibition '31 Women',

Packham

's SS17 collection was dedicated to the individual style and sensibility of 31 muses, past and present. Perhaps why the designs themselves were so beautifully diverse, from sleek floor length gowns to embellished wide-leg pants - there's a style in there for everyone. This UK designer shot onto my rader as the designer of choice for the one and only Kate Middleton the Duchess of Cambridge. In the words of Lorde,

"When you have the keys to the secret garden. Do you use it? Do you hide it?" Follow me into Reem Acra's very own secret garden runway for her SS17 NYFW collection. What a concept, who wouldn't be intrigued after being handed a card with that mysterious byline. I was hooked. A visual feast, her fantastical minis and cocktail dresses were fun and flirty while being dazzling to the eyes. Addictive and dramatic, her ball gowns were like candy - dripping in femininity and striking in strength. I don't know how she does it every season, but another here's to another home run.
