Yiqing Yin's Fierce Spring 2016 Runway

This season marks a career milestone for Yiqing Yin, her first show as a permanent member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. A huge achievement for any couturier, her Spring 2016 collection was all about texture and architecture - something Yin has perfected over the years. With a whole lot of buzz surrounding her this January, Yin did not disappoint. Fittingly focusing on new beginnings, this collection was titled 'Blooming Ashes' bringing with it a fierce warrior aesthetic proving her spot in the couturing community. A collaboration with textile designer Coen Carstens over luxurious leathers and sculptor Bastien Carré who created her finale piece of LED lights and piano strings was worth her while. Staying true to her signature draping, her pieces were the perfect mix of armour-like leathers, powerful chainmail-like mesh, cage-like roping and soft flowing silks highlighted through an earthy colour palette. Every Game of Thrones fan's dream, Yin's unique collection really stood out this season.
