NYFW Spring 2015 Runway Report: Zimmermann, Monique L'Huillier and TOME

Zimmermann are always a favourite at New York Fashion Week, innovative and visually stunning this Aussie powerhouse stands out from the large fashion runway crowd that is MBFW. Their Summer 2015 collection titled "Tell Me Seer" is light and airy drawing inspiration from art nouveau-style astrological tarot-card illustrations. Full of movement and sophistication, Zimmermann's designs elevate dressing to another level incorporating wearable yet statement pieces that can suit any occasion. Perfect trenches, flowing silks, billowing silhouettes, tailored yet off-cut layering are a masculine vs feminine combined masterpiece. Timeless and modern, it is this constant level of design that keeps Zimmermann at the forefront of the Australian and international playing field.

A red carpet and celebrity favourite, Monique L'Huillier's Spring 2015 evening wear designs are pretty in pastel. Inspired by the first few moments before sunset where the sky is illuminated in different shades of sorbet, this gorgeously feminine collection takes on an iridescent dreamlike quality. Coated mesh, laminated lace, subtle hints of glittering metallics keep the collection modern and sleek. Under a cascading waterfall of opalescence flowers, volume and glamourous silhouettes are full of relaxed style and fresh beauty highlighting L'Huillier's status as one of the leading evening designers at NYFW.

TOME are the masters of minimalist fashion and perfect construction, this Spring 2015 collection was no exception. Sleeveless suit dresses with full skirts alongside delicate lace skirts and masculine shirting were the hero pieces of the collection. A strong sense of the masculine silhouettes mixed with feminine details make their styled layering irresistible. This Aussie New York based designer duo grow with talent and strength from season to season, taking note from Indian artists Dayanita Singh and Rukmini Devi Arundale this modern runway was possibly one of TOME's best yet!
