MBFWA 2014 Runway Report: Bec & Bridge, Kahlo and Strateas.Carlucci

Bec & Bridge is an Australian household name, infiltrating every female wardrobe with their wearable and trendy designs. Set up outdoors in an old Blacksmith's Workshop, the atmosphere left the audience with baited breath awaiting the adventure that was about to unfold. True to their travelling inspiration, the collection was filled with textured linen, hand-dyed silks, checks and stripes, light denim, fitted and fluid silhouettes and a hint of boehmia. Leaving the trail of an earthy and adventurous spirit that sets hearts ablaze and leaves a sense of nostalgia...she is Due North.

Golden and shimmering metallics, clean lines, boxy separates, luscious leathers, alluring cutouts and a hint of my favourite mint Kahlo's MBFWA debut runway was a hit. Managing to create the perfect mix of masculine vs feminine dressing, Kahlo was true to form with smart basics that could suit every wardrobe. A brand that's Australian-made, it is transseasonal dressing that are both masterfully constructed and effortlessly wearable.

The corporate minimalist for the creative woman in the workplace and at after work drinks. The boys behind label Strateas.Carlucci recently won the Tiffany's National Designer Award at VAMFF and came with full force to MBFWA to debut their SS15 collection. A much talked about label, as the emerging designers to watch the buzz around this show was high. With a simple black, white and navy colour palette Strateas.Carlucci's perfectly styled looks were easy on the eye utilising liquid silks and structured materials their runway approach to expert tailoring has placed them in high esteem.
