NYFW's Fall 2014 Runway Report: Zimmermann, Rebecca Vallance and Rebecca Minkoff
Welcome to the new/old way of dressing, Zimmermann's Fall 2014 runway has a rebellious nature that is equally innocent and completely inspired by the legacy of beatniks, sharpies and teddy girls. Taking us off the beaten path, Zimmermann's refreshing darker colour palette and edgier look sold us on every level. Precise prints, clear colour codes, french lace, boxy biker jackets over feminine pencil skirts, gold stud detailing and rich textures had us dreaming of riding on a motorcyle with James Dean or listening to off-beat poetry in a coffee dive.
Luxurious and classic, so is the New York Fashion Week debut of another proud Aussie Rebecca Vallance. Shimmering embroidery, rich tweed, boxy winter tops, a royal colour palette, delicate lace and sophisticated mesh paints a clear picture of Rebecca's timeless Fall / Winter 2014 collection. Whether your walking along the upper east side with Blair Waldorf or rocking some leather track pants with Cara Delevingne this collection screams out to the fashionista in all of us.
The show to look forward to with a lot of buzz and a huge atmosphere, Rebecca Minkoff is always a spectacular. Drawing in the celebrity following, her range of style never ceases to amaze with everything from killer handbags to layered perfection to next season's it shoes. Modern and practical this season emphasises clean lines and harmonious separates, redefining menswear through feminine colours and softer silhouettes. With Coco Rocha, Carrie Underwood, Olivia Palermo, Anna Sophia Robb, Victoria Justice and Anna Kendrick sitting front row Rebecca Minkoff's playful, popping, trendsetting and whimsical runway has stolen my heart.
