NYFW's Fall 2014 Runway Report: BCBG, Raoul, Desigual and TOME
BCBG Max Azria started this crisp winter New York Fashion Week off with a cosy Fall 2014 show which harked back to it's core brand roots to celebrate 25 years of timeless femininity and accessible luxury. Rich winter colours shone through the layered looks with ease embracing contrasting textures, over-sized coats, formal vs informal, elegant silhouettes and long skirts over boots. The perfect way to kick off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week!
Raoul was next off runway, presenting their Fall / Winter 2014 collection in the penthouse across from Lincoln Center. While this Singaporean-grown brand has everything from evening gowns to the everyday, its their beautiful textiles, playful colours and exquisite accessories that make Raoul quite unforgettable. Always managing to bring the 20s and 50s into the 21st century - we are oh so thankful!
Desigual is definitely a highlight of my NYFW, with a fun and vibrant runway that never fails to get you dancing along with the models. It's one big fashion party that you're dying to be apart of! Colourful and textured overcoats, mod dresses, timeless accessories and hearts being thrown into the crowd Desigual has made this runway the one to be at.
Last but most of all not least is Aussie's own TOME, the boys behind the label really brought their Fall 2014 A-game. Purity at its finest, their latest collection steered away from everyday basics to provide next year's wardrobe with some statement pieces of exaggerated proportions. Minimalist by nature their over-sized coats, play on materials, timeless layers, elegant silhouettes and beaded detailing possibly made this my favourite show of the day.
