TOME's Earthy Spring 2014 NYFW Collection

TOME's New York Fashion Week Spring 2014 collection at first look is a minimalist's dream, however upon closer inspection you can see it's brimming with incredible detail. Shredded and reconstructed tweed, floating python skins on tulle, ancient symbols embroidered using slashed pieces of chiffon are all inspired by the earthworks art of artist Ana Mendieta. TOME's palette of pinks and pale flesh tones in silk crepe, lace and floral brocade add an air of femininity against these sharp treatments. A collection immersed and inspired by earthy elements, the metallic and reflective surfaces serve as a cocoon for seasonal protection. A simple, elegant and beautiful collection where contrasting textures steal attention, while sophisticated and casual structures maintain its allure.
