Dion Lee Wows At LFW's International Woolmark Prize

To say that Dion Lee is genius is a given, this talented Australian designer constantly pushes the boundaries of construction and style creating true design masterpieces. His capsule collection for London Fashion Week's International Woolmark Prize was no exception, Dion competed against 5 other international designers to showcase their grasp of wool design and creativity with this traditional material. Steep in tradition since 1950s, where two seemingly unknown designers won against a judging panel of Hubert de Givenchy and Pierre Balmain...they were a 21 year old Karl Lagerfield and an 18 year old Yves Saint Laurent. Dion shone amongst fashion royalty, set before a judging panel of Victoria Beckham, Diane Von Furstenburg, Tim Blanks, the Sozzani sisters and Donatella Versace. His intricate and detailed designs utilised a skillful combination of silk, mesh and wool wooing the crowd and setting him high amongst fashion's most respected designers. Big congratulations to Dion Lee on representing Australia, it was a pleasure to witness him showing his artistry to the world. Stay tuned caddies, as next you'll peek the other contestants collections including the winner Christian Wijnants... xo
